Traveling between Belize City, San Pedro, and Caye Caulker is becoming more convenient as San Pedro Belize Express introduces its new Express Plus App, a digital platform designed to make booking, traveling, and accessing customer benefits easier than ever.
On today’s episode of Open Your Eyes, Illiana Rivero, Sales and Reservation Supervisor at San Pedro Belize Express, Armani Bennett, Sales and Reservations Clerk, and Shameka Pennell, Marketing and Product Development Manager, shared details about the new app and how it aims to transform the travel experience for Belizean passengers.
The team explained that the launch comes as part of the company’s move toward greater digital convenience, allowing customers to manage their travel directly from their mobile devices without needing to wait in long ticket lines.
Tickets at Your Fingertips
Through the Express Plus App, customers can purchase tickets online, receive their digital boarding pass, and access a QR code that can be scanned directly at the boarding gate.
Rivero explained that the goal is to create a smoother process for both passengers and staff by reducing wait times and making travel more efficient.
Instead of visiting a ticket booth before boarding, travelers can complete the entire booking process through the app, making it especially convenient during busy travel periods such as holidays, festivals, and major events.
The app currently supports travel routes between Belize City, San Pedro, and Caye Caulker, with plans to expand its services and features in future phases.

One of the key features of the Express Plus App is its rewards program, designed specifically with Belizean customers in mind.
Pennell explained that Belizeans who register on the platform will earn points based on their travel, allowing them to move through different membership tiers—from standard levels to higher tiers such as bronze, silver, and platinum.
As customers accumulate points, they will have access to additional discounts, promotional items, and future rewards, including possible travel packages, tours, and hotel partnerships.
The company emphasized that Belizeans remain at the center of this transition, noting that local travelers have been the foundation of San Pedro Belize Express for the past 18 years.
A Transition from Membership Cards to Digital Rewards
For existing members who still use physical membership cards, San Pedro Belize Express confirmed that the transition to the app will happen gradually.
Customers will continue receiving their current membership benefits while the company prepares the next phase of the digital rollout. Once the transition begins, existing points and rewards will be transferred into the new system so customers do not lose their accumulated benefits.
The app also includes customer support features, allowing users to connect with sales representatives through WhatsApp, share tickets with family members, and access travel schedules directly through the platform.
Celebrating 18 Years with New Innovations
As San Pedro Belize Express celebrates its 18th anniversary, the company is encouraging customers to download the Express Plus App and begin exploring its new features.
To mark the anniversary, customers who download the app will receive an additional 100 points, along with opportunities to participate in giveaways.
The company also revealed that more digital improvements are on the way, including a redesigned website and a new point-of-sale system as part of its continued modernization efforts.
