Agriculture Minister Jose Mai Denies Criminal Allegations

Minister of Agriculture Jose Mai is firing back tonight at what he calls a ‘highly defamatory’ and completely fake social media post. The viral claim attempts to link him to criminal activity both locally and across borders, but Minister Mai isn’t having it. In a strongly worded release, he refers to himself in the third person, saying ‘The Minister of Agriculture categorically denies all allegations.’ He goes further, accusing what he calls ‘fake news media’ of teaming up with political opponents from the UDP to smear his reputation. The statement calls the post ‘brazen and cowardly,’ and warns that legal action is coming for those behind it. Minister Mai also cites laws on defamation and cyberbullying, urging the public not to fall for what he describes as yet another attempt to tarnish his name. When we reached out for comment today, the Minister declined to speak further.
