A&R Responds to Public Backlash
A&R, the authorised distributor of JanSport in Belize, has issued a statement addressing the recent public backlash surrounding the company’s concerns regarding the distribution of school bags to children.
In the press release, the company apologised to the people of Belize for any misunderstanding or offence caused and said that it never intended to diminish the work of leaders, police officers, or organisations supporting students in need. “We recognise and deeply respect every initiative that helps our nation’s children prepare for the new school year,” the statement read.
A&R also highlighted its responsibility to protect the authenticity and warranty of the JanSport brand. The company noted that counterfeit products bearing the brand name are widely available and stressed the importance of ensuring customers receive genuine products.
The release said that giving back has always been part of the company’s journey, even if not always publicised, citing ongoing support for schools, families, and local initiatives.
The company assured the public that its concern was not meant to discourage generosity but to protect the quality of products and maintain trust with consumers.
“Together, we can ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed,” the release concluded.
