Are Aliens Real? Ex-President Obama’s Answer Breaks the Internet

Former US President Barack Obama stirred online chatter this weekend over aliens. Obama replied to the three-worded question ‘Are aliens real?’ with “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them. And they’re not being kept in… what is it? Area 51.”

“There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States,” Obama added.

Obama’s response during Saturday’s quick-fire segment with host Brian Tyler Cohen went viral.

By Sunday, the former president posted a clarification on Instagram attached to the viral clip. “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round,” he said. “Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

However, this is not the first time Obama has addressed the alien topic.

At a previous talk show, Obama playfully said, “There are some things that I can’t tell you on air… When I came into office, I asked, ‘Is there the lab somewhere where we are keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?’ and they did a little bit of research and the answer was no.” He added, “There’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are… We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. People still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”

Obama’s latest alien remarks revived the curiosity of people and the debate that the controversial subject brings.
