Armed Robbers Raid Business in Independence Village

Police are investigating a brazen armed robbery at a business in Independence Village that left thieves on the run with cash, documents and a licensed firearm. ACP Hilberto Romero says a group of armed men targeted the location on Sunday, confronting an employee before making off with valuables from a safe. While no injuries were reported, the robbers escaped the scene shortly after carrying out the heist. Romero provides more details on the incident.

“On Sunday, Kang Young reported that he was at his business place, CIB Brewery in Independence, when a Kia vehicle arrived in the area and four persons exited a vehicle. They were all armed with firearms. They held him up, and they stole a firearm, a nine millimeter pistol, and they asked for the keys for a safe. Thereafter, they took documents and an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe. Thereafter, the male persons fled from the area. No one was injured. Thereafter, the vehicle was located at a banana farm in the Bella Vista area.”

 

The stolen items have yet to be recovered.
