Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance had NYC ‘holding it in’
Three-quarters of a million New Yorkers quite literally held it in during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.
According to the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the city recorded a “significant reduction” in water use across the city during the 13-minute performance. Right after it ended, water usage spiked.
“NYC saw a significant reduction in water usage throughout the five boroughs during the Super Bowl’s #BadBunny halftime show yesterday, but in the 15 minutes right after the show ended, there was a spike in usage equivalent to 761,719 toilets flushing across town,” DEP said in an online post.
There are questions about whether Belizeans were holding it in too. It may have been worthwhile for many after seeing Belize’s flag on the global stage.
A moment that the flag holder, Nyah Davis, said having the Belize flag front and centre was “worth it 100%”.
