BEL Chairman Marshalleck Resigns After Five Years
Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) announced that E. Andrew Marshalleck, S.C., Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, will conclude his tenure on December 31, 2025.
Marshalleck joined the Board in December 2020. According to BEL, Marshalleck oversaw major upgrades to Belize’s power infrastructure, including the addition of 30MW of generation capacity and 92 MVA of transmission substation capacity, which reduced network outages by over 30% compared to pre-2021 levels.
The statement from BEL says that during his tenure, the company signed the country’s first power purchase agreement for a utility-scale solar plant.
Reflecting on his service, Marshalleck said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served and for the chance to meet and work with many of the talented managers and employees of BEL … they, together with the people of Belize, deserve a truly successful BEL.”
The reason for his departure is not shared.
Marshalleck will be replaced by former CEO Lyn Young.
