Belize Advances Coastal Climate Planning
The Ministry of Blue Economy and Marine Conservation (MBEMC), in partnership with the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network, hosted a two-day workshop to advance Belize’s NAP for the Coastal Zone and Fisheries Sector.
The training brought together key government agencies involved in marine and coastal adaptation planning.
The workshop’s goal is to strengthen institutional capacity by providing a foundational understanding of national adaptation processes, climate change frameworks, and core adaptation concepts. Participants also gained hands-on experience with the NAP Global Network’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Toolkit, designed to improve tracking, learning, and accountability in adaptation initiatives.
The NAP Global Network helps developing countries strengthen climate adaptation by offering practical tools to ensure planning is measurable, transparent, and effective.
