Belize Basketball Wins Bronze Medal

Belizeans are celebrating tonight, but it’s a bittersweet victory for our under-19 boys’ basketball team. The young high-flying Jaguars overwhelmed the Guatemalan national team with their athleticism on offense and tenacity on the defensive side of the court. At the end of regulation, the score was eighty-five to seventy-two. Breakout star Tevaughn Dawson led team Belize in scoring with twenty-seven points and ten rebounds. Belize is the number nine ranked junior male basketball program in all of the Americas and number one in Central America. It was our best hope for gold in the 2025 Central American Games, but due to limited resources and scheduling difficulties several key players were unable to make it to the Central American Games.
