The countdown is officially on. In just ten days, the streets of Belize City will come alive with color, music, and pure Carnival energy as revelers and spectators gear up for the 2025 Road March, the biggest celebration of the season. And if you joined the festivities last year, you’ll remember the new parade route introduced by the Belize Carnival Association. Well, it’s back and it’s here to stay. With the excitement building, the Belize City Council is already on the ground, working out the logistics to make sure everything runs smoothly. Today, we caught up with Mayor Bernard Wagner, who shared some important updates on traffic and safety plans for the big day.
Bernard Wagner, Mayor, Belize City
“We form a part of the national celebration commission. I have representation on that committee, and we have been working since early may and we have been having meetings ensuing that all the different agencies as it relates to the city, traffic, control, constables are in place to ensure it is a safe but fun filled carnival parade. That is one of the biggest events in the calendar and so we are prepared as a city. We have the sanitation team, the works team putting together the necessary logistics to have a great time.”
