Belize City Man in Critical Condition After Shooting
Police are investigating an attempted murder following a shooting yesterday in Belize City that left a 25-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at the corner of Kraal Road and Reggae Street. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area and were informed upon arrival that the victim had already been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Initial investigations revealed that 25-year-old Shawn Nolberto, a Belizean mechanic, was seated in the driver’s seat of a parked Ford F-150 pickup truck when the shooting occurred. He was accompanied by 25-year-old Arnel Copious, a pump attendant, who was seated in the passenger seat.
Police say that while the two men were inside the vehicle conversing, a male individual approached and fired several shots in Nolberto’s direction, injuring him. The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been identified.
Nolberto remains in critical condition as investigations continue.
