Belize Flag Waved at Super Bowl: “Worth it 100%”

An 18‑year‑old dancer proudly waved Belize’s flag during Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at Super Bowl LX, creating a moment of national pride on America’s largest stage.

Nyah Davis, a recent high school graduate who has been dancing for five years, said, “It was such an amazing moment… being right in front and centre was very important to me.” Standing at the front of the stage allowed her to showcase Belize to 135 million viewers.

Davis explained that she joined the performance through a talent agency audition process. She described the preparation as challenging, with long hours of practice and hard work, but said every effort was “worth it 100%”.

Although she is also of Guatemalan heritage, Davis chose to carry Belize’s flag in honour of her grandmother, who instilled in her a strong sense of cultural identity despite growing up in the United States. “She made sure that I knew my culture… I wanted to pay my respects to her and be thankful that she didn’t let me forget that,” she said.

She described working with Bad Bunny as a positive experience, calling him humble and focused on delivering a performance that celebrated all of Latin America.
