Belize-Florida Spirit Flights Confirmed for November

The Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that, come November, Belizeans can still look forward to the upcoming flight from Belize to Florida on the budget airline, Spirit. A few weeks ago, the government stirred up a buzz when it announced that the flights would start at just eighty-five U.S. dollars. However, shortly after, the airline announced that it was facing serious financial concerns and was at risk of closing its doors if changes were not made soon. Despite this, Minister of Tourism, Anthony Mahler, says that the flight is still coming in November.

“These are a part of doing business. We can’t worry about that right now. We have to prepare for to ensure that the flight is successful when it starts. We’ve been inconsistent discussions with the executives from Spirit and we’re going to do everything possible for us to be able to have that road be successful.”
