Belize Kicks off 2025 International Partners Conference

Belize is rolling out the green carpet this week, welcoming international partners for a major conference focused on the future. Today marked the start of the third International Partners Conference, a forum where Belize’s development allies come together to strategize and support the country’s growth. And with climate change intensifying, the stakes are higher than ever. This year’s theme is “Investing in the Green Transition”, and it’s all about building resilience. From clean energy and e-mobility to sustainable infrastructure and green education, the focus is on solutions that can help Belize thrive in a changing world. Prime Minister John Briceño shared more on what this means for the Jewel, and how Belize plans to lead the way in climate-smart development.

“This  is expected to be a gathering of minds that you are on mission for us as host. Your presence here signals something greater than ideas. It signifies a commitment to action. Many of you in this room have stood with beliefs through our most defining moments thus far in the building of our young nation. You stood with us through natural disasters, geopolitical tensions, global economic crisis, and the brutal COVID-19 pandemic. And your mere presence here today signals your desire to continue to stand with us. We do not take any of this for granted. And remain grateful for this partnership. Our commitment to development is more than symbolic. It is about it’s more than funding. It is a relationship built on trust and a shared belief that a small developing state like Belize can do big things that we can bring about positive change. It is this commitment to a meaningful partnership. That fuels our forward progress towards the green transition.”
