Belize Launches Robotics Training to Prepare Youth for High-Tech Jobs

The Ministry of E-Governance, in partnership with the Belize Robotics Federation, has launched a nationwide robotics training program aimed at equipping students with skills for careers in engineering, automation, and technology.

Students from Belize High School and Saint Catherine Academy participated in hands-on training, building and testing VEX CTE Workcell and VEX ClawBot robots. The program focuses on practical problem-solving and technical skills, directly supporting Belize’s workforce development goals.

Plans are underway to roll out the program to all Digital Connect Centers nationwide, with local “champions” trained to run robotics sessions safely and consistently.

VEX partners David Feeney and Eli Osornio provided technical guidance, helping ensure students gain industry-relevant skills.
