Belize Police Department Embraces Non-Lethal Alternatives

Pepper balls and other non-lethal rounds are becoming an essential part of modern policing, and today, the Belize Police Department showed us why. These tools give officers a safer way to handle dangerous situations without resorting to deadly force. Unlike live ammunition, which can cause severe injury or death, pepper balls temporarily incapacitate a suspect, causing pain and disorientation but not permanent harm. In tense moments, that difference can save lives. Earlier today, officers took part in a hands-on training exercise to learn how to use these alternatives effectively.
