Belize Pushes for Regional Investment Cooperation at WTO Forum
Belize has joined with its regional neighbours in advocating for enhanced cooperation to attract foreign investment. The World Trade Organisation (WTO) Public Forum convened leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean to exchange insights on investment facilitation.
Belize participated alongside senior officials from Ecuador, Barbados, Suriname, Chile, and Korea.
A central proposal was the creation of a regional platform on investment facilitation. This would allow countries to exchange best practices, strengthen institutions, and ensure that investments deliver maximum benefits for citizens.
The Inter-American Development Bank pledged support for the initiative and pointed to opportunities for deeper partnerships.
