Belize Races to Get Ready for 2026 Hurricane Season

With the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season just weeks away, the government is stepping up efforts to make sure Belize is ready. On Monday, Minister of Public Service and Disaster Risk Management Henry Charles Usher met with NEMO officials in Belmopan to review the country’s level of preparedness ahead of the June first start date. Emergency teams are already checking shelters, supplies, and response plans, while updating the national shelter list to ensure everything is in place. Officials say the next few weeks will be critical. And as those preparations ramp up, Minister Usher is urging Belizeans to do their part, review your family emergency plans and get ready before the first storm threatens.
