Belizean Athletes Head to 2025 Junior Pan American Games
Belize is set to be represented at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 9 to 23. The Belize Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (BOCGA) has officially announced the national delegation, which will compete across five disciplines: swimming, cycling, athletics, canoe sprint, and weightlifting.
Leading the delegation is Kaya Cattouse, serving as Chief of Mission. She will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the athletes during the competition. Representing Belize in swimming is Davia Richardson, who will compete in the 100m Butterfly on August 10–11, the 100m Freestyle on August 12, and the 50m Freestyle on August 13. She will be coached by Marella Richardson. In cycling, Derrick Chavarria will take part in the road race on August 17, under the guidance of Coach Eduardo Villanueva.
In athletics, Brooklyn Lyttle will compete in the long jump event on August 18, coached by Royston Lyttle. Daniel Cruz will represent Belize in canoe sprint, racing in the K1 1000m on August 20 and the K1 500m on August 21. He will be coached by Elvin Penner. Rounding out the team is Miguel Marin, who will compete in the +98kg weightlifting category on August 23, alongside Coach Lucien Pollard.
