Belizean Man Murdered During Robbery in Cleveland
Samir Santana, a thirty-four-year-old Belizean national, was shot and killed on Monday during a robbery attempt at a smoke shop in Cleveland, Ohio.
Preliminary reports from the Cleveland Police Division indicate the shooting occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. Santana, an employee at the store, was shot and found unresponsive outside the shop.
Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Santana moved to the United States when he was a young boy, where he later became a father of three.
He is survived by his family, who describe the loss as sudden and devastating. One sibling wrote, “I never wanted to experience losing a sibling. I’m still struggling to grasp reality. I’m struggling to accept you’re no longer here with us.”
