“Big Baby’ Miller Loses Wig Mid-Fight

Heavyweight boxer Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller produced one of the strangest moments in recent boxing memory on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, and it had nothing to do with a knockout.

Miller, who has Belizean roots, defeated Kingsley Ibeh by split decision, but the bout went viral in the second round when a right uppercut dislodged Miller’s hairpiece and sent it flying from his head. Gasps and laughter rippled through the arena as the toupee lifted and folded backward, briefly exposing a bald patch.

Miller finished the round unfazed. Between rounds, he removed the hairpiece completely and threw it into the crowd. It was later caught by British heavyweight Fabio Wardley.

After the fight, Miller laughed off the incident and explained the mishap.

“I’m a comedian,” Miller said. “You have to make fun of yourself.”

He claimed he lost much of his hair days earlier after mistakenly washing it with ammonia bleach instead of shampoo.

The 37-year-old went on to edge Ibeh on the scorecards, celebrating the win by rubbing his bare scalp in the ring.
