BTL CEO Ivan Tesucum Placed on Leave

Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) has confirmed that its Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Tesucum, has been placed on a 10-day leave following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process.

In an employee bulletin issued today, the company stated that the Board of Directors had reviewed a complaint previously filed against Tesucum. The matter was heard by a disciplinary committee that received evidence from both Tesucum and the complainant.

According to the statement, the Board accepted the committee’s recommendation that the specific complaint “was not established in accordance with the law.” Both parties have been officially notified of the decision.

However, the Board said it also addressed a “related matter” that warranted disciplinary action. After considering Tesucum’s response and observing his right to due process, the Board decided that he should be placed on leave for 10 working days, effective immediately. He is expected to return to his duties on Friday, November 14, 2025.
