Budna’s Mother Demands Independent Probe, and ComPol’s Resignation

News Five also caught up with Joseph Budna’s mother, Katherine Williams, at her residence where she shared her reaction to the development in her son’s case over the past twenty-four hours. Williams is calling for an independent investigation into the incident. She is also calling for the Commissioner of Police to step down. Here is what she had to say.

“I saw when Joseph was running. He was running from one side to the next. Look like he was running to the House of Culture and they catch up with him. I see he fall down and I see how they beat him. They give him so much lick. I don’t know how they are so cruel to human being. I think they wanted to kill him. I don’t know what the commissioner is talking, because he feel like everybody born big. That is him. That is him, Joseph. That is him, Joseph. From the time I see somebody the run I know dah Joseph. From the time I saw him running. No matter what he did, whatsoever he do he is suppose to pay for what he do. But because he is speaking about the government and the ministers and that is the reason why they don’t like him none at all, because he bring out the truth.”

“Well yes but I don’t know.”

“And the removal of the commissioner of police?”’

“He is the first one that needs to go from there, he is the first one.”
