Burglars Target Medina House of Jewelry

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at the Medina House of Jewelry in Belize City on Monday morning.

Head of the National Crime Investigation Branch, Hilberto Romero, said police responded after the security guard reported being held by several men. “They tied him up, pointed a gun at him, and broke into the building,” Romero said.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to determine if anything was stolen.

Romero added that police are still investigating to rule out an inside job.

It is not yet confirmed whether the burglars were armed. The company has not released official statements on the incident.
