Camalote Man Shot Dead in Mother’s Bedroom

A 21-year-old man was shot and killed inside his mother’s bedroom in Camalote Village on Friday night, in what police suspect was a targeted attack.

Travis Swift, who was gunned down inside his home shortly after returning from a nearby store. Police say an unknown individual entered the residence and fired multiple shots at Swift. Police recovered around 30 spent shells from the scene.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith said, “Police are currently seeking two male persons who they believe can assist with this investigation.” No motive has been established.

ASP Smith added that police have not yet determined the motive behind Swift’s muder. She also confirmed that Swift was not known to police prior to the incident.

Swift was killed at the foot of his mother’s bed. His younger brother was also in the house and narrowly escaped injury.

“I lose a son, seven years ago, and still no justice. I would want justice for Travis because he really did not deserve it,” Swift’s mother, Rosita Orellana, stated. “Why they target Travis, only God knows. Only God knows, because he is not someone that give trouble.”

Orellana’s other son, Oswald Arnold, was found dead in 2018 after being missing for six months.

Swift had graduated from Baptist High School just two years ago and helped run his mother’s small business.
