Car Dealer Fatally Shot in Corozal Town

A 36-year-old car dealer from Calcutta Village was shot and killed in Corozal Town late Thursday night. Police are now investigating a suspected targeted attack.

The shooting occurred shortly after 8:00 pm at the Hotel Martin on First Avenue, according to police.

Reports are that Eugene Myers was dropped off at the hotel and was approaching the lobby when an unknown gunman walked up from the roadside and fired a single fatal shot to his head.

The suspect then fled the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect escaped in a vehicle parked nearby.

This incident comes months after Myers was targeted in an earlier shooting in the same town in November.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a motive.
