Christian Workers Union Elects New Executive Board at Annual Meeting

The Christian Workers Union (CWU) held its Annual General Meeting this weekend at its Secretariat in Belize City, bringing members together to discuss union matters, elect new leaders, and learn about preparing for the future.

Guest speaker Corine Fuller gave a practical talk on retirement planning, urging members to start early and think ahead. She explained that having enough income after retirement takes careful planning,  including saving regularly, knowing your expenses, and even considering part-time work or small investments.

The meeting also saw the election of a new Executive Board. Leonora Flowers was re-elected as President, joined by First Vice President Ella Waight, Second Vice President Coleen Hamilton, Treasurer Anwar Juan, and Organiser Tricia Pelayo. Trustees include Jeffrey Trapp, James Neal, and Nelson Young.

Former First Vice President Antonio Heredia was appointed Special Advisor to the CWU Board, taking over the role from former President Evan “Mose” Hyde.

Held under the theme “CWU Achieving Future Goals”, the meeting included a presentation of their audited financials.
