“Well, me and Candice go way back. We were, in 2018, we were councilors. I was a mayoral candidate, and she was a councilor. I believe she brings tremendous capacity to the council. Her term of office obviously will have to dovetail with an eye on the municipal elections of 2027. And so, we wanted to ensure that the new mayor and the new council of 2027 have the opportunity to really shape leadership; and so her term of office will dovetail with the 2027 municipal elections.”

“With Mr. Albert Vaughn leaving how much has he helped the city during the term that he was your Admin?”
Bernard Wagner
“Tremendously, tremendously. He brought a sort of cooling effect so to speak on leadership at City Hall. Really simplify stuff that normally would be complex. He brought that layman term, that on the ground sort of the leadership that we appreciate up to today.”

“So if he brought all these things, why didn’t he stay?”
Bernard Wagner
“Mr. Vaughn has his own personal ambition. I cannot hold him back. He has his ambition and he has other personal things that he wants to achieve.”
