City Police Investigate Attempted Murder

Belize City police are investigating an attempted murder following a late-night shooting last night.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at the corner of Bocotora and Hicatee Streets. Upon arrival, they learned that a man had been shot and rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Investigations revealed that at approximately 10:28 p.m., 33-year-old Steven Smith was walking along Hicatee Street when he was approached by three men. One of the assailants opened fire, striking Smith.

Fortunately, Smith was treated for his injuries and later released from the hospital.
