Cloudy, Showery Sunday With Rain Mainly in Central and Southern Belize
A few showers or periods of light to moderate rain are likely across Belize, especially over central and southern areas, according to the National Meteorological Service’s afternoon forecast issued at 12:01 p.m. Sunday. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.
The forecast attributes the weather to a moist east-northeasterly airflow over the area. Skies will be mostly cloudy with sunny breaks during the day, and generally cloudy tonight.
Skies will be cloudy at times from Monday afternoon through midday Tuesday. Showers will generally be isolated, but a few more showers or periods of light to moderate rain are highly likely, mainly along coastal and offshore areas, from Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Winds will blow from the northeast to east at 5 to 15 knots, with a light chop to choppy sea and waves of 2 to 5 feet.
Temperatures along the coast will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29 Celsius) to 77 (25). Inland, they will range from 87 (31) to 73 (23), and in the hills from 79 (26) to 68 (20).
No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.
