Corozal Man Charged with Burglary and Drug Possession

Police have arrested and charged 26-year-old Dennis Eck of Chan Chen Village in connection with two separate burglary incidents in Corozal Town, as well as possession of a controlled drug.

In the first incident, police say that on Sunday, February 1, Eck allegedly entered a residence in the Dominguez Hall Layout area as a trespasser and stole a container holding $750 in cash.

The second incident was reported on Saturday, January 31, at about 8:00 p.m., when a female minor told police she heard a noise coming from her bedroom. Upon checking, she reportedly saw a male inside the room, who then fled through a bedroom window.

Police say investigations led them to identify Eck as a suspect. He was later located, and a search conducted on him reportedly resulted in the discovery of 1.3 grams of cocaine.

Eck has since been charged with two counts of burglary and possession of a controlled drug.
