Customs Siblings Face Court in Massive Weed Bust

Siblings Cheryl Castillo-Moreno and Athlee Castillo, two familiar faces from the Customs Department, were back before the Chief Magistrate today. They’re accused in what authorities call one of the country’s biggest marijuana importation cases. The pair slipped into Court #1 just before noon, where they were handed a hefty disclosure, ninety-five pages of evidence. Their next court date is February third, 2026. This all stems from their October second arraignment, when the duo was charged with abetment to import one hundred and fifty-one pounds of high-grade cannabis, a stash worth millions. Investigators say the drugs came in from the U.S. disguised as “bath and body” products. A customs officer reportedly blew the whistle after getting calls urging him to clear the suspicious package. When it was opened, officers found tightly sealed bags of marijuana instead of lotions and soaps. Both Cheryl and Athlee pleaded not guilty and walked out on twenty thousand dollars bail each, with strict conditions, they had to surrender all travel documents. Their attorney, Richard “Dickie” Bradley, told reporters this is, “a serious allegation, but still just an allegation”. He even criticized Belize’s marijuana laws as “grossly outdated,” pointing out the irony: you can possess ten grams, but you can’t legally buy, grow, or sell it. The case continues in February, and all eyes are on how this high-profile trial unfolds.
