Dangriga Opens Forensic Hub for Scenes of Crime Technicians
A new facility for the National Forensic Science Service, which oversees the Scenes of Crime Unit, was officially opened this morning in Dangriga. Behind every major crime scene, there’s a small, specialized team working quietly but critically: Scenes of Crime Technicians. Think of them as the storytellers of the scene, they capture every detail exactly as it is, with photos, sketches, and meticulous notes. They’re the ones collecting the pieces that matter, including fingerprints, blood samples, shell casings, fibers, anything that could help crack the case. And their work doesn’t stop at the scene; they provide technical support to detectives, analyzing and interpreting the evidence to help piece together what really happened. This new facility means better tools, better training, and faster, more reliable processing; ultimately, stronger cases and clearer answers for families and communities seeking justice.
