Decomposed Body Found in Cayo

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body in the Red Creek area of the Cayo District.

The grim find was made around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday after police responded to reports of a body in the area. Upon arrival, officers found the remains of a male individual.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, investigators have been unable to confirm the man’s identity. The body has since been classified as “John Doe” pending official identification.

Police say a pathology report is expected to provide further details that may help determine who the individual is and the circumstances surrounding his death.
