Decomposed Body Found in Orange Walk

The decomposed body of a man was found on Wednesday night in San Felipe Village, Orange Walk.

Authorities say that around 8:15 p.m., they responded to a report of human remains found off a roadside area in the village. When officers arrived, they observed the partially decomposed body of a man lying in some bushes, with visible injuries to the body.

The victim has since been identified as Omar Anibal Aguilar. According to police, a local farmer made the gruesome discovery earlier that evening while working in the area.

Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area late into the night, collecting evidence that may help determine how Aguilar died and whether foul play was involved. His body was later transported to the Northern Regional Hospital morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
