Decomposing Body Found Bound in Santa Cruz Home  

Over the weekend, residents of Santa Cruz Village, in the Stann Creek District, alerted police to a foul odor emanating from a residence in the community. Checks revealed the decomposing body of twenty-six-year-old Mario Turcio. He was discovered with his hands bound. According to ACP Hilberto Romero, He was known to police and has spent times behind bars. Investigators are now seeking to ascertain who wanted him dead.

“On Saturday police responded to a report that a decomposed body had been found in a house at Santa Cruz. They found the remains of a male person identified as Mario Turcio. His hands had been bound. We are awaiting a postmortem to determine the cause of death.”

“He is a Belizean of twenty-six years of age.”

“No idea of how long he was there?

“We do not know, he was seen about four days prior to the discovery of the body.

We do know at the this time. WE know that he had been charged in the past for theft and other crimes. That is all we know about him. He has been to prison likewise. He was staying there by himself, until a smell came from the house they became concerned and called the police.”
