DFC Pushes for Stronger Climate Finance Access
The fight against climate change depends on access to funding that protects livelihoods and strengthens resilience. The Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is working to secure that support, as it took place in the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Regional Dialogue in Santo Domingo.
The event brought together government officials, accredited agencies, and partners from Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss strategic priorities and ways to mobilise climate financing for transformative projects.
Representing Belize at the dialogue were DFC CEO Henry N. Anderson and Environmental and Social Safeguard Specialist Veronica Manzanero. They were joined by Ministry of Economic Transformation officials.
The DFC is aiming to strengthen its bid for GCF accreditation, which is a key step that would open more funding opportunities for Belize.
CEO Anderson reaffirmed that DFC is committed to “Strengthening the partnership with the GCF and expanding access to resources will allow us to drive meaningful, sustainable investments that safeguard livelihoods and promote inclusive economic growth.”
