Belize recorded a rise in Easter arrivals in 2026. Figures from the Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour point to a shift in how visitors are entering the country.

According to the report, total arrivals increased 5.5%, reaching 24,520, up from 23,240 in 2025.

The strongest growth came through air travel. The Philip Goldson International Airport recorded 8,735 arrivals, up from 6,366 last year, a 37% jump. The ministry’s report says this reflects “stronger tourism inflows and growing reliance on air travel.”

At land borders, trends were mixed. Western crossings at Benque Viejo del Carmen rose sharply by 28.4%. However, northern entries at Corozal dropped significantly by 23.7%.

Overall land crossings dipped slightly.

Tourist arrivals also climbed by 24.6%. “The figures suggest a shift in regional movement patterns, with fewer crossings through Mexico and increased traffic through Guatemala during the holiday period,” the ministry said.
