DJ Cas Responds to Theft Allegations; Police Say He’s Wanted
Tonight, popular DJ and well‑known document runner Eterio ‘DJ Cas’ Castillo is pushing back against serious allegations. His former employer, Vega’s Distributors, claims he misappropriated more than thirty‑two thousand dollars, and that police are now looking for him. An internal audit flagged a long list of unpaid balances from businesses across Belize City, San Pedro and Orange Walk. But when those clients were contacted, they reportedly produced receipts showing they had already paid DJ Cas directly, in cash or through transfers to his personal account. Castillo reached out to our newsroom to share his story. In our interview this evening, we put the allegations to Castillo himself, did he take the company’s money, and is he wanted by police? He responds to every claim.

Eterio Castillo, Accused of Theft
“I just want clarify. I’ve never stolen any money. I signed a contract to pay what I owe and what they say I needed to pay because I was responsible for, and that’s it. I agreed to the amount that’s on the paper and nothing more because that is what we sat down and agreed upon. Thirdly, I am not fleeing the country. I’m here. I’ve never gone anywhere. I am not wanted by the police department because I have very good friends in the police department that just reach out to me and say, hey we the look for you or this the happen.”

“Have you been in contact with the police?”
Eterio Castillo
“Yes. We contacted the Belize Police Department, the CIB, no Warrant.”
Shane Williams
“But have you ever received money that was for Vega’s in your account and you took it for yourself and didn’t give to Vega’s.”
Eterio Castillo
“No. No. The thing is that I have to – in order for me to sell I have to collect and I can’t take money and not declare a customer bill because I can’t sell to the customer again, then I’ll put myself in a predicament that makes no sense.”
Shane Williams
“If you look at the story that was posted, people all over the comments section are saying that you did similar things to them.”
Eterio Castillo
“And that’s the thing Mr. Shane, I’ve always told people well then go to the police and report it. I’ve done business with people whereby never paid me for my service or had me get something for them and they never retrieved it.”
Following the interview, News Five reached out to police in Benque and it turns out that Castillo is indeed wanted for questioning.
