Dr. Candice Pitts Named New Belize City Administrator

Belize City is getting a new City Administrator. Earlier today, the Belize City Council officially announced that Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts will take up the post starting November first. She succeeds outgoing City Administrator Albert Vaughn. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Dr. Pitts has worn many hats. She’s a former Belize City Councilor, an educator, and most recently, Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan and non-resident Ambassador to Japan. She’s credited with strengthening diplomatic and economic ties that continue to benefit the country. With a Ph.D. in English from Howard University and advanced studies in diplomacy, Dr. Pitts brings a unique blend of academic and practical experience to her new role at City Hall. CitCo says they’re excited to work with her to improve municipal services and build a stronger, more resilient Belize City. So, come November, all eyes will be on Dr. Pitts as she steps into this key leadership role.
