Drone Regulations Delayed Until July Thirtieth
The Belize Department of Civil Aviation is giving itself more time to finalize the next draft of its proposed drone regulations. The department says the revised draft Unmanned Aircraft Systems Regulations were expected on June thirtieth, but that release has now been pushed back to July thirtieth. Officials say the delay follows a public consultation period that brought in many comments and technical recommendations from stakeholders in aviation and the drone sector. The BDCA says this is only a timeline adjustment, not a change in commitment. Once the revised draft is published, the public will get another chance to review it and submit formal feedback before the regulations are finalized. The department says it remains focused on due process and on ensuring that manned and unmanned aircraft can safely share Belize’s airspace.
