‘Easy Glen’ Adolphus Charged in Brutal Murder of School Warden
Here’s what we know about a shocking development in the murder of school warden Shaniele Faber. Just after ten this morning, fifty-five-year-old Goldburn Glenford Adolphus, well-known as Easy Glen, a security guard at the UDP Headquarters, was escorted by CIB officers into Courtroom Six. Wearing a patriotic Belize T-shirt, Adolphus stood before Magistrate Mannon Dennison, unrepresented, as he was read a single charge of murder. Police say Faber, a mother of four, was killed sometime between October second and fourth. Her partially decomposed body was discovered stuffed inside a blue garbage drum near Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road on Saturday evening. Investigators found multiple injuries to her head, arm, and leg. The discovery was made by a man searching for bottles, who alerted a nearby officer. Faber was later identified by her brother. Police investigations led them to a secondary scene, a room on the lower flat of a three-story building, where blood stains, a machete, and other evidence were recovered. Surveillance footage also played a key role in Adolphus’s detention. In court today, no plea was taken, bail was denied, and Adolphus was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until November twenty-seventh. After hearing the charge, he asked the magistrate if he could speak, but when told he couldn’t discuss the case without representation, he simply said, ‘It’s okay.’ Police confirm Adolphus refused an interview on Monday before being formally charged. This case is still under investigation, and we’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.
