Elmer Nah’s House Search Under Scrutiny in Triple Murder Trial
The trial of ex-cop Elmer Nah, accused in a triple murder, resumed with intense focus on a New Year’s Eve house search. Officer Jerome Middleton testified about the search, which was captured on body cam footage. But defense attorney Dr. Lynden Jones grilled him on the legality of the operation, pointing out that the search warrant was read after midnight, outside the permitted hours. Three of four videos were played in court, showing police combing through Nah’s home, room by room. No weapon was found, but a headlamp and a Battle Dress Uniform were taken as evidence. Jones argued the warrant didn’t authorize those seizures. Nah, who claims he was pepper-sprayed in prison days earlier, was granted a one-day adjournment for medical attention. His doctor confirmed eye irritation and classified the injury as “harm.” The trial continues with IT experts and FBI personnel expected to testify next week. The defense will also call witnesses before wrapping up its case.
