Evidence Suggests Suazo’s Deadly Shooting Was Accidental
Turning now to an incident that has puzzled grieving family members and friends of Andy Suazo. Police say evidence now points to an accidental shooting in the death of the Camalote resident, even as the investigation continues. Early reports offered conflicting accounts, raising questions about what led to the fatal incident. Police now say they have recorded statements, recovered the firearm, and gathered evidence that suggests the shooting was unintentional. Still, investigators stress the case remains open. Because the post‑mortem could not conclusively explain how the shooting occurred, police say they will continue to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

“As it relates to the investigation pertaining to Mr. Suazo, what I can say is that several statements have been recorded, both open statement and caution statement, and the post-mortem examination has been conducted. Those have formed the part of a case file and it will be forwarded for guidance. However, the indication, as was stated before, is that it is suspected to have been an accident and the evidence that we have gathered so far is in support of that. However, it is not a closed investigation. We continue to investigate this matter in the interest of being thorough. We have recovered the firearm. We have recorded open statement and caution statement. The post-mortem examination, the doctor was not able to conclusively come down on any position either side. So it is still an ongoing investigation and where the evidence takes us that is where we will go.”
