Excessive Rainfall Watch Remains in Effect for Belize

The National Meteorological Service has released updated rainfall totals for September 20th, 2025, showing the amount of rainfall recorded across the country and by district between midnight and 10:00 a.m. today.

An Excessive Rainfall Watch remains in effect for Belize, particularly the central and southern regions. Forecasters warn that an additional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall could accumulate over the next 48 hours, increasing the risk of flooding.

Residents, especially those in flood-prone areas, are urged to closely monitor weather updates and to follow advisories from the National Hydrological Service.
