Faber Slams PM for Skipping Gordon’s Funeral
Lead Opposition Senator Patrick Faber is calling out Prime Minister John Briceño for skipping the funeral of former Senator Henry Gordon. Faber says the PM’s absence was a glaring omission, especially at a ceremony that honored Gordon with full state tributes, including a twenty-one-gun salute. He went further, pointing out that the wreath meant for the Prime Minister was left untouched after the service, calling it a sign of disrespect to Gordon’s legacy and years of public service.

“Senator Gordon by all means should have gotten the full honors and he did get the twenty-one-gun salute by the BDF. He did get the presence of the Governor General. He got the presence of the leader of the opposition, our party leader. He got the presence of the president of the Senate, the Chambe of our National Assembly, but he did nit get the presence and the honor of the prime minister of Belize and I say today that isa great shame to Mr. Gordon’s public life and contribution to our country. When it was time to lay the wreath, the had four wreath, one for the governor general, one for the leader of the opposition and one for the representative of the house that that individual served on. The wreath for the prime minister laid on the tripod and remained on the tripod even after the funeral, shame, shame, shame.”
