Families and Patients Gather for Belize’s First Bleeding Disorders Meeting
Families and patients affected by bleeding disorders across Belize gathered in San Antonio on December 14 for the country’s first-ever meeting to share support, get information, and learn how to manage their condition.
The event was hosted by the Belizean Foundation for Bleeding Disorders at the Weston Orange Walk Mennonite Community. Participants received educational resources with the purpose of improving self-management and advocacy skills for those living with bleeding disorders.
“This inaugural meeting represents a foundational step toward improving care, advocacy, and quality of life for those living with bleeding disorders in Belize,” said the Foundation for Belizean Bleeding Disorders in its press release.
The meeting also focused on building a strong network among patients, caregivers, and families, while promoting awareness and understanding of bleeding disorders in the wider community.
