Family Hosts Concert-Style Wake for ‘Big Tom’
It’s been a week since forty-eight-year-old Kenneth ‘Big Tom’ Flowers was gunned down in what police believe was a crime of passion. His accused killer, fifty-year-old Sidney Peyrefitte Jr., is behind bars on remand for murder. Tonight, Flowers’ family is hosting a concert-style wake at their Mopan Street address, a celebration of his life and his recent push for peace across the city. They’ve opened the doors to everyone, even those outside the neighborhood. Artist and close friend Bernard ‘Unlmtd’ Cayetano stopped by our studios to share details and reassure the public about security for tonight’s event.

“We nuh have no security concerns because Big Tom was love, Rod Mack was love and everybody know that. We just the encourage everybody to come out with a positive mentality. Come out and pay the respect. Put the dan to lay down and mek we do it together. And after this moving forward, let us stay unified cause only we could change what we the go through right now. All of us are hurting and how long more will we have to hurt to come to the realization that we could change the hurt we are feeling, so that further down the line nobody else has to hurt, you understand?”
