Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Cayo District Claims Young Man’s Life

Tragedy struck the Cayo District Monday evening when a road accident claimed the life of 19-year-old Samuel Amaya. Around 7 p.m., police responded to reports of a crash in Frank’s Eddy Village. Amaya, a Salvadoran national, was riding a Skygo motorcycle with 46-year-old Edwardo Gaston Vasquez, an Argentinian laborer from Belmopan, when Amaya reportedly lost control at the Frank’s Eddy junction and collided with a lamp post. Both men were thrown from the bike. Amaya died from his injuries, while Vasquez was treated at the Western Regional Hospital. Amaya’s body is now at the hospital morgue awaiting a post-mortem.
