Former Prince Andrew Arrested Over Ties to Epstein
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of King Charles III, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, British police confirmed Thursday.
Thames Valley Police said a man in his 60s from Norfolk was taken into custody and that searches were carried out at properties in Berkshire and Norfolk, including Royal Lodge in Windsor and Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate. Authorities have not detailed the specific allegations but previously said they were reviewing claims linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including whether Mountbatten-Windsor shared confidential information while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.
In a statement, King Charles said he learned of his brother’s arrest “with the deepest concern” and stressed that “the law must take its course.”
Mountbatten-Windsor has denied all allegations against him and has previously said he never witnessed or suspected any of Epstein’s criminal conduct. He has not publicly commented on the latest misconduct allegations.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. Under UK law, authorities can hold a suspect for up to 24 hours before charging or releasing them, with possible extensions.
